Fluorosilicone FVMQ Sponge Silicone Sheeting
Fluorosilicone rubber, often referred to by its generic name FVMQ, is the material of choice for applications involving oils and fluids that can deteriorate standard elastomers. The mechanical and physical properties of Sponge Fluorosilicone rubber closely resemble those of regular silicone rubber. However, fluorosilicone offers enhanced resistance to fuel and mineral oils while exhibiting reduced tolerance to hot air when compared to silicone.
Sponge Fluorosilicone FVMQ sheeting is available in various densities, including soft-medium, medium, medium-firm, and firm. This flexible and compressible sponge fluorosilicone material is engineered to perform exceptionally well in extreme temperature ranges. It boasts outstanding weatherability, resistance to oil and compression set, impressive electrical strength, and non-stick properties.

The generic name for fluoro-vinyl-methylsilicone is fluorosilicone rubber (FVMQ). Sponge Fluorosilicone elastomers incorporate excellent high and low temp silicone properties with minimal resistance to fuel and grease.
The working temperature spectrum is much larger than rubbers of fluoriccarbon. Sponge Fluorosilicone sheeting is available with high tear strength. Some of these compounds exhibit improved resistance to compression set.
Fluorosilicone is available as a closed cell sponge rubber. The closed-cell nature excludes intrusions by unwanted solvents/liquids.
