Polyetherimide rod in Chinese and polyetherimide in English belong to amorphous plastics. It is an amorphous high-performance polymer, which is made of engineering plastics made of amorphous Pei (polyetherimide) and extruded at high temperature by extruder. At present, the commonly used Pei rod is the raw material of American GE (trade name ULTEM). In 1972, American GE began to research and develop Pei.
Main features:
It has high temperature resistance, dimensional stability, chemical resistance, flame retardancy, electrical property, high strength, high rigidity, etc. it not only has high mechanical efficiency, but also has excellent heat resistance and chemical stability (continuous service temperature is about 170 ℃) , and high dimensional stability and creep strength. It has high strength, high rigidity, wear resistance and dimensional stability at high temperature. It has inherent flame retardancy and low smoke without adding any additives. The oxygen index is 47% and the combustion grade is ul94-v-0.
The density of Pei rod is 1.28 ~ 1.42g/cm3, the glass transition temperature is 215 ℃, the thermal deformation temperature is 198 ~ 208 ℃, it can be used for a long time at 160 ~ 170 ℃, and the allowable intermittent service temperature is 200 ℃. Pei has excellent mechanical strength, electrical insulation, radiation resistance, high and low temperature resistance, fatigue resistance and molding processability; the purpose of reinforcement and modification can be achieved by adding glass fiber, carbon fiber or other fillers Its excellent torsional strength in thermoplastic makes it a cheap substitute for small steel cutting parts.
Application fields:
Pei rod has excellent comprehensive balance performance. It is effectively used in electronic, automotive, electrical and aviation industries, and as a metal substitute for traditional products and cultural and daily necessities. It is generally used in micro tools / public catering industry, analytical instruments, medical equipment, telecommunications, molded interconnect (MTD), automotive lighting, aircraft interior components, HVAC / fluid treatment, etc.
Pei has excellent hydrolysis resistance, so it can be used as handle, tray, fixture, artificial limb, medical lamp reflector and dental appliance of medical and surgical instruments.
