Polyethylene PE 500 Polyethylene PE 500 Polyethylene PE 500
Polyethylene PE 500 / PE-HMW – Natural – UV resistant
The regular High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (HMW-PE) as a standard is not considered to be UV stable. When exposed to sunlight and other UV light it will degrade fairly quickly.
Extended exposure to sunlight radiation, and ultraviolet rays in particular, results in polyethylene being weathered. The higher energy spectrum of the UV light causes a compound breakdown of the polyethylene elements without proper treatment, resulting in the material of the polyethylene tank becoming brittle.
The UV resistant HMW-PE product includes additives that allow HMW-PE to survive direct sunlight or other sources of UV light. The UV-resistant HMW is available in black and can be made in personalized colors, but it would require minimum volume orders.
Ideally suited for many mechanical, chemical, and outdoor electrical uses, mainly due to its excellent friction and wear capability. HMWPE 500 UV resistant has excellent chemical resistance, very poor absorption of moisture, low friction coefficient and antistick capabilities.
This HMW-PE polyethylene material is natural UV resistant and is offered for many different applications, particularly in mechanical engineering and the foodstuffs industry.
The UV resistant HMW-PE / PE500 is often used in the plant engineering for lot of industrial processes, as a Plastic for Meat, Fish and Poultry Processing. PE500 UV resistant is used as well as Plastics for Bakery and Confectionery and other branches of the Food Industry.
HMWPE 500 UV resistant Sheets have excellent mechanical properties, backed by rigidity and creep resistance, making this polyethylene suitable for use as cutting boards, food preparation underlays and machined parts in the food industry.
