PTFE Bushings with 15% Glass and 5% MoS2 Fillers
Our PTFE bushings are specially formulated with a blend of 15% glass and 5% MoS2 fillers. This unique combination is often paired with glass or bronze components to enhance the material’s slipperiness and hardness, making it a preferred choice for various applications. MoS2, known for its exceptional dry lubrication properties, contributes to increased surface strength and reduced friction and wear rate coefficients, while the glass fibers provide structural reinforcement. Notably, neither the glass nor the MoS2 is affected by chemical or electrical factors.
This material is widely utilized in hydraulic and pneumatic systems for reciprocating seals, making our PTFE bushings with 15% Glass and 5% MoS2 an excellent choice for dynamic seals. With a hardness rating of 58 Shore D, these bushings consist of 15% clean milled glass fibers, 5% MoS2, and 80% virgin PTFE, resulting in a grey-colored product. They exhibit strong resistance to cold flow at both high and low temperatures and offer improved wear and friction performance.
