Standard grade PTFE-coated woven fibreglass fabric – type 314-1
Standard grade PTFE-coated woven fibreglass fabric – type 314-1 is a standard grade PTFE-coated woven fibreglass cloth. This PTFE coated glass cloth offers excellent release properties over a wide range of temperatures. It is usually used as a conveyor belting material.
For many uses, PTFE is a preferred substrate thanks to its near-perfect properties like chemical resistance, extreme temperature tolerance and non-stick capability. Nevertheless, PTFE is generally weak and requires a substitute for strengthening.
Fiberglass is a typical reinforcement used with PTFE as it is a cost-effective, high-temperature fiber. Usually using a dip-coating process, PTFE is applied to fiberglass. In many different applications, including food processing and conveyor belting, dip-coated PTFE components have been used for years.
