Glass-Filled PTFE Rods
Our Glass-Filled PTFE Rods, specifically the PTFE 25% Glass Filled White Rod, are exceptional synthetic fluoropolymers. By incorporating glass fibers, these rods experience a significant enhancement in key properties, such as mechanical strength, wear resistance, and compressive capabilities, up to a remarkable 40%.
The PTFE Rods offer an extensive long-term service temperature range spanning from -200°C to 260°C, with a short-term maximum service temperature of 300°C.
These rods are meticulously reinforced with 25% glass fibers, which notably bolster wear resistance and, to a limited extent, deformation strength under load. Notably, the electrical and chemical characteristics remain largely unaltered.
It’s important to note that glass, while beneficial in many aspects, does exhibit vulnerability to alkalis and susceptibility to hydrofluoric acid. Additionally, there is a slight increase in the coefficient of friction.
Applications:
Our Glass-Filled PTFE Rods find themselves indispensable in various industries, including aerospace, electrical and electronic sectors, and automotive fields. These rods are particularly well-suited for billeting, precision grinding, and CNC turning.
We also offer similar materials, such as PTFE Virgin Extruded White Rods, Graphite-filled PTFE Rods, and PTFE 25% Carbon Filled Black Rods.
