PEEK (polyetheretherketone) plastic raw material is aromatic crystalline thermoplastic polymer material, its melting point is 334℃, with high mechanical strength, high temperature resistance, impact resistance, flame retardant, acid and alkali resistance, hydrolysis resistance, wear resistance, fatigue resistance, radiation resistance and good electrical properties.
PEEK board generally has the following types:
Peek-1000 (brown grey) : PEEK-1000 is made from pure polyetheretherketone resin, which has the best toughness and impact resistance among all PEEK grades. The PEEK-1000 can be sterilized using the most convenient disinfection methods (steam, drying heat, ethanol and Y-ray), and the raw materials used to manufacture the PEEK-1000 comply with the EU and US FDA regulations on food suitability, which makes it very popular in the medical, pharmaceutical and food processing industries.
Peek-hpv (black) : The result of adding PTFE, graphite, and carbon fiber, making PEEK-HPV a bearing-grade plastic. Its superior friction properties (low friction coefficient, wear resistance, high peak pressure limit) make it an ideal material for friction applications at this level.
Peek-gf30 (brown grey) : This material is filled with 30% glass fiber reinforced grade plastic, which has better rigidity and creep resistance than PEEK-1000, as well as better dimensional stability, and is ideal for manufacturing structural parts. It can withstand fixed load for a long time at high temperature. If the PEEK-GF30 is used as a sliding element, its adaptability should be carefully checked because the glass fiber scratches the mating surface.
Peek-ca30 (black) : The material is filled with 30% carbon fiber reinforcement, which has better mechanical properties (higher elastic modulus, mechanical strength and creep) and more wear resistance than PEEK-GF30, and the carbon fiber reinforced plastic has 3.5 times more thermal conductivity than the unreinforced PEEK plastic – faster heat dissipation from the bearing surface.
High temperature resistant
PEEK resin has a high melting point (334 ° C) and glass transition temperature (1 43 ° C), continuous use temperature of 260 ° C, its 30%GF or CF reinforced grade load thermal variation temperature up to 316 ° C.
PEEK(polyetheretherketone) plastic raw material resin has good toughness and rigidity, it has excellent fatigue resistance to alternating stress comparable to alloy materials.
The flammability of materials is the ability to maintain combustion after obtaining high energy ignition from oxygen and nitrogen mixtures. The accepted standard for measuring flammability is UL94 by first igniting a vertical sample of a predetermined shape and then measuring the time it takes for the material to self-extinguble. PEEK detection results in V-0, which is the optimal level of flame retardancy.
Measurement produced by plastic burning smoke standard for ASTM E662, this standard is to use America’s national bureau of standards (NBS) laboratory for dust than optical density, measured by the standard shape sample of soot combustion production level of visible light dim, the test can be continued to burn (fire) or flameout (no flame), PEEK has the lowest fumigability among plastics.
Similar to many organic materials, PEEK mainly produces carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide during pythermal decomposition. Very low concentrations of gas can be detected by using the British aircraft test standard BSS 7239. This detection process requires complete combustion of 100 grams of sample in 1 cubic meter space, and then analysis of the gas produced in it. The toxicity index, defined as the ratio of the combined concentration of toxic gas produced under normal conditions to the dose that would kill a person in 30 minutes, was 0.22 for PEEK450G, and no acidic gas was detected.
The stability of PEEK plastic raw materials have superior dimensional stability properties, which are important for some applications. Changes in environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity have little effect on the size of PEEK parts, which can meet the requirements of high dimensional accuracy requirements.
1.PEEK plastic raw material injection molding shrinkage is small, which is very good for controlling the size tolerance range of PEEK injection parts, so that the size accuracy of PEEK parts is much higher than that of general plastics;
2. The coefficient of thermal expansion is small. With the change of temperature (which can be caused by the change of ambient temperature or friction heat generation during operation), the size of PEEK parts changes very little;
3. Good dimensional stability. The dimensional stability of plastic refers to the performance of dimensional stability of engineering plastic products in the process of use or storage. The change of this dimension is mainly due to the improvement of the activation energy of polymer molecules, so that the chain segment has a certain degree of curling.
4.PEEK has outstanding heat resistance and hydrolysis characteristics, and its water absorption is very low in high temperature and high humidity environment. It will not appear that the size of general plastics such as nylon changes significantly due to water absorption.
Stability of insulation
PEEK(polyether ether ketone) plastic raw material resin has good electrical insulation properties and maintains a high temperature range. Its dielectric loss is also small at high frequencies
Radiation resistance and peel resistance
PEEK(polyether ether ketone) plastic raw material resin has good radiation resistance and peel resistance, so it can be used to make electromagnetic wires for special purposes.
