Polyamide 12 Rods: Engineered Plastic Excellence
Our Nylon 12 / Polyamide 12 Extruded Natural Rods are a remarkable engineering plastic. These rods exhibit exceptional qualities such as minimal moisture absorption, remarkable resistance to stress cracking, and an impressive level of impact strength. Designed for durability, our Polyamide 12 Rods offer outstanding performance in temperatures ranging from -50°C to 80°C over the long term, with a maximum service temperature of 140°C for short-term applications.
What sets our Polyamide 12 rods apart is their exceptional wear resistance and excellent sliding properties. These rods boast a very low density among all engineering plastics, with a density of only 1.02 g/cm3. They are a robust polymer capable of withstanding high static and dynamic loads.
The standout feature of our Polyamide 12 rods is their low water absorption, a distinctive trait that separates them from other polyamides. This characteristic results in improved mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties. Additionally, Polyamide 12 sheets exhibit superior thermal performance compared to Polyamide 6.
Polyamide 12 rods are uniquely suited for operation in wet environments and at elevated temperatures, maintaining their mechanical properties. They are easily machined, glued, and welded. This polymer, like all polyamides, demonstrates excellent resistance to various chemicals, including exposure to oils, fats, and gasoline.
With a modulus of elasticity 2-3 times lower than that of other polyamides, Polyamide 12 displays remarkable plasticity. It efficiently absorbs stresses and possesses high impact strength, even in notched conditions. Our Polyamide 12 rods are highly crack-resistant and available in both sheet and round section rod forms. While typically produced through extrusion, we can also fulfill special casting requests for Polyamide 12 upon demand. Choose Polyamide 12 for exceptional performance in engineering applications.
