Polyamide 12 Sheets: A Durable Solution
Our Polyamide 12 sheets are known for their exceptional wear resistance and impressive sliding properties. With a notably low density of just 1.02 g/cm3, they stand out among engineering plastics. These robust polymers are built to handle both static and dynamic loads.
What sets our Polyamide 12 plates apart is their remarkably low water absorption, a characteristic that sets them apart from other polyamides. This low water absorption not only enhances their mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties but also distinguishes them from Polyamide 6, offering improved thermal performance.
One key advantage of Polyamide 12 sheets is their ability to maintain their mechanical properties even in wet environments, even at elevated temperatures. These sheets are not only resilient but also easy to machine, glue, and weld. Like all polyamides, they exhibit excellent resistance to various chemicals, including exposure to oils, fats, and gasoline.
Polyamide 12 demonstrates a high “plasticity” with an elasticity modulus 2-3 times lower than that of other polyamides. It excels at stress absorption and boasts a high impact strength, even in notched conditions. Polyamide 12 sheets are resistant to cracking and are available in both sheet and rod forms (round section). While typically produced through extrusion, we also accommodate special casting requests.
