PVDF Film (Kynar® & Solef®) – Overview, Applications, Features, and Benefits
PVDF Film, including Kynar® Film and Solef® Film, exhibits remarkable strength and toughness, as evident in its tensile properties and impact strength. Notably, it surpasses many thermoplastics in resisting creep and fatigue while retaining flexibility and transparency in thin film sections.
Applications for PVDF Film encompass a diverse range, including filters, diaphragms, release films, piezoelectric films, chemical-resistant tank linings, fuel cell seals, and medical bags.
When it comes to adhesive bonding, PVDF (Kynar®) can be securely bonded to various substrates, including itself and metals, with bond strengths ranging from 50 to 800 psi. These adhesive systems are engineered to excel in harsh chemical environments, with three recommended epoxy-based options: Araldite®, Hysol®, and BONDIT® B45 TH.
