Nylatron is the tradename for our range of specialist modified grades of nylon where additives and additions provide altered and improved physical properties when compared to virgin nylon grades.
Main properties of our range of Nylatron sheet, rod and tube are:

Nylatron GSM
Nylatron GSM contains finely divided particles of molybdenum disulphide to enhance its load bearing capabilities whilst maintaining the impact resistance inherent to our standard grade of cast nylon 6. It is most commonly used for gears, sheaves, sprockets and custom parts.

Nylatron GS
The addition of MoS2 to our standard extruded nylon 66 renders this material somewhat stiffer, harder and dimensionally more stable, but results in some loss of impact strength. The nucleating effect of the molybdenum disulphide results in an improved crystalline structure enhancing bearing and wear properties.

Nylatron MC901
This modified cast nylon 6 grade with its distinctive blue colour exhibits higher toughness, flexibility and fatigue resistance than our standard Cast Nylon 6 grade. It has proved to be an excellent material for gear wheels, racks and pinions.

Nylatron NSM
Nylatron NSM is a proprietary cast nylon 6 formulation containing solid lubricant additives which grant this material self-lubricity, excellent frictional properties, superior wear resistance and outstanding pressure-velocity capabilities (up to 5 times higher than conventional cast nylons). Being particularly suited for higher velocity, unlubricated moving parts applications, it is the perfect complement to our oil-filled nylon Ertalon LFX.

Nylatron 4.6
Compared with the conventional nylons, Nylatron 4.6 features a better retention of stiffness and creep resistance over a wide range of temperatures as well as a superior heat ageing resistance. Therefore, applications for Nylatron 4.6 are situated in the “higher temperature area” (80 – 150°C) where stiffness, creep resistance, heat ageing resistance, fatigue strength and wear resistance of Nylon 6, Nylon 66, Acetal and PET fall short.
