(NBR) Nitrile Rubber with Fabric Reinforcement
Material Description
Nitrile Rubber (NBR) with fabric reinforcement, also known as Buna-N with cloth support, stands as a widely used elastomeric sealing material, cherished for its resilience to petroleum-based fuels and lubricants, as well as its cost-effectiveness. Nitrile elastomers result from the copolymerization of acrylonitrile and butadiene. The inclusion of fabric within the NBR sheeting imparts dimensional stability in both directions, making fabric-reinforced NBR rubber an ideal choice for diaphragm applications.
Widely regarded as the workhorse of the rubber industry, Nitrile Rubber, with its significant acrylonitrile content, demonstrates exceptional resistance to common oils and fuels.
This material is also referred to as:
- Fabric Reinforced Nitrile Sheeting
- Supported Nitrile Sheet
- Engineered Nitrile Fabrics
- Nitrile Fabric Insertion
- Reinforced Hydrogenated Nitrile Sheet
- Reinforced PVC/Nitrile Sheet
In various sectors and regions, reinforced nitrile sheet is alternatively named supported nitrile sheet, engineered nitrile textiles, or nitrile fabric insertion sheet. A variety of technical compounds and products are available, including high-temperature reinforced hydrogenated nitrile sheet and reinforced PVC/nitrile sheet.
Applications
Fabric-reinforced Nitrile rubber excels in applications such as carburetor and fuel pump diaphragms, aircraft hoses, seals, gaskets, and oil-lined tubing. Its versatility and robust resistance make it suitable for applications not only demanding oil and fuel resistance but also for dynamic applications requiring heat resistance, abrasion resistance, water resistance, and resistance to gas permeability.
