Expanded PTFE Tape with fiberglass Expanded PTFE Tape with fiberglass Expanded PTFE Tape with fiberglass
The expanded PTFE tape with glass fibers is a gasket tape made from glass fibre reinforced expanded PTFE. The added glass fibres improve the mechanical properties and allow a higher operating temperature.
The result is a considerably reduced cold-flow tendency, good recovery properties and excellent sealing performances at thermal cyclings. The added glass fibres enhance the mechanical characteristics and reduce creep and cold-flow. The filled expanded PTFE tape withstands high loads and is suitable for applications in high-temperature environments. The expanded PTFE tape has a rectangular cross-section and is self-adhesive. The used glue is characterised by a high adhesive force.
Our glass filled expanded PTFE tape is suitable for applications in power plants, given its resistance to high temperatures up to 200°C and to high sealing stresses. The applications include, for example, pipe flanges, heat exchangers, compensators and lid plugs in power plants.
Advantages:
- suitable for repairs of flange connections in power plants
- resistance to high gasket stresses
- high thickness after installation; reduced cold-flow tendency
- suitable for systems with changing temperatures
Properties of the 100 % expanded PTFE (ePTFE) with fillers:
- high mechanical properties & reduced slight reduction
- UV resistant; no ageing
- non-toxic, biologically inert
- non-flammable
